A Message from the Headteacher

Our goal is to provide an environment for your children and the community the school serves that is 'Safe, Secure and Successful'.

That is: physically safe, emotionally secure and academically successful.

We aim to instil pupils with a passion for learning, developing skills that they can use throughout their lives to make a positive contribution individually, within their families and in the communities that they live.

At Wychall we aim to ensure that:

• Children achieve the high goals set for them in literacy, mathematics and ICT. Providing them with the basic tools for learning.
• Children develop as independent learners, able to resolve problems and find answers to questions they might like to know about.
• Children have a clear understanding about the world in which they live and can see how subject disciplines e.g. history, geography, science, interconnect with each other.
• Children enjoy their learning and build upon their natural inquisitiveness.
• Children are confident about themselves as learners and have lots of opportunities to share and discuss the things they have learnt.
• Children value, respect and show tolerance towards the ideas of others, celebrate individual differences.
• Children's spiritual and emotional development will be encouraged and nurtured as they move through the school.

In doing this we are able to offer a newly devised curriculum that makes learning exciting and purposeful.

In addition children are provided with a variety of residential and extra curricular opportunities in music, art, sports and technology and outdoor pursuits.We are able to offer 'wrap around' child care facilities and holiday clubs that are open for 50 weeks a year.
